I’ve been planning on doing this review for some time now and finally I got the chance to do it and cover the small details that were added with the new Kamaleon skins.
Kamaleon is our most popular theme for classifieds websites which comes with 20 skins to choose from as of the date of this post. The reason I am making this post is because I found something interesting with the new skins and it changed my personal favorite theme from Newspaper to Kamaleon!
Although we already compared some details among all the themes that we have at our market with our themes comparison page but this time I will be focusing only on the small features of the look and feel that you can find with two of the three latest skins added with Open Classifieds 2.2.0 release.
1- OC skin
This skin came from our need to have a forums section that’s similar to our main website look and feel. That’s why we named it OC since it shares similar colors and overall look with Open Classifieds main website colors.
OC is a more greenish Kamaleon skin which you can check directly by going to our community forums, what’s special about this skin in my opinion is the colors it’s having. Although we already have a theme that’s a bit greenish which is the reclassifieds but you can notice that there is a difference between the two colors.
Another feature is the white font with a green background at the top bar looks okay but when you pass the mouse cursor over one of the menu items you can see the color changes in a pleasant way.
2- Paper skin
Okay the first impression I got from the paper skin is that it’s clean and neat, not so confusing with colors and feels good to look at, then I tested publishing my first ad there and I saw the difference in how the buttons look and how the fields are filled:
Those could be not unique to Paper skin and it could be in other themes, but the overall experience of paper skin with the blue font and everything else made it become my favorite choice of theme among OC themes.
