Last 2 weeks I’ve been really busy working on Open Classifieds, since I didn’t get all the help needed for 2.0. what I decided is to improve current version and do a huge code refactoring so everything works better.
What includes:
- Moderation of posts available (unspam, and activate posts from the admin).
- New Admin face lift, using twitter bootstrap.
- New instalation system, just 1 step.
- New autolad for classes.
- New site statistics with charts.
- New template for full header.
- New log/profiler system if debug active in the footer.
- filecache selected by default on install.
- Upgraded phpmailer, cache system, database class.
- Improved spam detector.
- Moved all the templates to /content/.
- Cache disabled if you are loged in as admin.
- Code refactoring.
To release this version I really need the help from all of you! We NEED Testers!
This version is already live at aderous.com, I used 3 different servers and seems to be working fine. Your themes modifications should work just fine.
Be aware this is a beta, so don’t use it in production sites.
How to install:
- Download
- Unpack
- Run the installation in http://yourdomain.com/install/
- Follow the steps
- Working!
How to upgrade from any 1.7.x version to 1.8
- Create a backup of your files and DB
- Download new version
- Uncompress
- Run the installation at http://yourdomain.com/install/
- Follow the steps
- Run at your browser :
- http://yourdomain.com/install/upgrade175.php (if your installation was older than 1.7.5)
- http://yourdomain.com/install/upgrade18.php (to speed up the DB)
- Delete /install/
- Enjoy ;)

Perhaps it’s a good idea to use php gettext so it’s not mandatory to have gettext compiled.

Hello all. A question. How can I put link in google and msn sitemap, because I see that version has no button in admin panel, where you can copy the link to sitemap. Older versions 1.76 we saw that is. BETA Version 1.8 does not. Please fix the problem. Thank you.

I found a bug in version 1.8. When you open the site to google chrome, and want to upload a picture to see a very ugly buttons. Please fix the problem
