Two big real estate classifieds giants have made a deal yesterday and the deal was worth $3.5 billion dollars. Zillow, launched in early 2006, acquired Trulia, launched in 2005, for 3.5$ billion dollars in stock while.
Zillow and Trulia are very well known and loved by U.S. consumers with Zillow having an Alexa rank of 207 and Trulia 604 in the US!!
The interesting part is that Trulia is a typical success story of a classifieds site, where two graduates got frustrated on their apartment search and started a website to cover the gap they found. Although they started locally in California but within less than a year they were spread all over the U.S. and 7 years later Trulia reported 22 million monthly users.
