Our Open Values

1. Love Open Source

We have always released our software as Free Open Source Software with dual licensing for our premium themes, you also have access to their source code, not encrypted or anything like that. All our software (except Sublime Text) is Open Source and we push our clients and friends to use Free Software and to contribute.  We use a lot of FOSS at Open Classifieds and I like to give credit to all of those within our README.md in each of your installs.

2. KISS

Keep It Simple Stupid! We believe that things should be easy. No loads of forms to communicate with us, no complex tools that no one understands, no complex code that is impossible to read!

3. We Use Our Own Software

One of the most important values to us, we want to get the best of our software since we are constantly using it, and we are constantly learning and improving it as a consequence.

4. Global Reach

Our tools should be cross-browser, cross-platform, cross-device and available in as many languages as possible. This means that it wouldn’t matter whatever browser you use, if you’re using phone/tablet, if you use windows/mac/linux, your hosting company and if you speak any language, you wouldn’t find any obstacle to use our software adequately.

5. Help People

By developing FOSS software and giving free support at our forums we want to help as many people/companies as possible in the world!

6. Try Your BEST

We always try our best, but we mess up sometimes, we are humans after all, therefore we also learn from this and we improve! Work good with your team to get the best out of them ;)

7. Good Life

As part of Open Classifieds team you could work as remotely as you want or come to our office, flexible working hours, enjoy the summer! And we also want to make some money. With Open Source it’s not that easy to make a good stream of revenue, but while we make enough to pay our bills, our enjoyment while doing it is more than enough for us!

8. Honesty & Transparency

This is quite typical…and normally people lie….a lot! I hate lies, trust me – HATE them. For us its’ really important to be honest! My life is easier being transparent and straightforward, rather than evil and sneaky.. Also we do not use weird chat, we write as we are…we do not hide under masks pretending to be someone else!

9. Lean Company

We almost don’t have budget for anything, so we teach ourselves. We use a lot of free resources as books, video tutorials (we also buy some), so we can accomplish what’s needed on our own if possible. We do not waste money, we do not want any investment. We want a steady slow grow that let’s us adapt to changes accordingly.

10. Have Fun

There’s nothing I hate than doing things I don’t like! So have fun working, learn, improve and help others!
